Numerous Italian companies will travel to 3 continents to promote the value of made in Italy
Modena, 12 June 2023 – Recently back from Djazagro in Algeria and from Plastprintpack Ethiopia, the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association Ucima is ready to continue its trade fair schedule in the second half of June with a presence at five more exhibitions in three different continents.
The first is Expo Pack Guadalajara to be held in Mexico on 13-15 June, where Ucima is organising an Italian pavilion in the Expo Guadalajara exhibition centre in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency ITA. The exhibition will cover the entire packaging supply chain and will showcase the latest technologies and machinery and the most innovative materials. A total of 20 Italian companies will be taking part in an area of almost 200 square metres: A.B.L., Agriflex, Bertuzzi Food Processing, Camozzi, Automation, Cavanna, Duetti Packaging, Famartec, Goglio, Gorreri, Ica, Omag, Omas Tecnosistemi, Pigo, PND Costruzioni Elettrotecniche, Raytec Vision, Ricciarelli, S.T.V. di Salati Giovanni, Tecnowrapp, Teicom Sistemi and Tropical Food Machinery.
The second exhibition, ProPak Asia, will take place concurrently from 14 to 17 June. Held in the BITEC exhibition centre in Bangkok, Thailand, this show will see the participation of a group of 30 Italian companies organised by Ucima: ACMI, Akomag, Angelus, Antares Vision, Arol Group, Bertoli – Brand of Interpump Group, Bertuzzi, Cepi, CT Pack, EMS Group, Fenco, FPE, Galdi, Goglio, ICA, OMS, OMSO, P.E. Labellers, Pelliconi, R. Bardi, Raytec Vision, Sacmi, SIPA, Smi Group, TMCI Padovan, Tropical Food Machinery, Unifill, Zacmi – Zanichelli Meccanica and Weightpack. This year’s show is a special edition organised to mark the 30th anniversary of the event and has the specific mission of helping the manufacturing industry overcome global challenges in a sustainable and responsible manner. The ancillary events will include the Global Packaging Forum on Wednesday 14 June, which will also see the participation of Ucima.
The next trade fair, also to be held in Asia, will be Propak China from 19 to 21 June at the International Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The Italian space organised by Ucima in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency ITA will host six companies: Cama Group, Cavanna, Delfin, FBR ELPO, Omag and SIPA. Now in its 28th edition, the exhibition is a key B2B event for Asia’s processing and packaging industries and attracts more than 2,000 exhibitors and 100,000 industry buyers each year.
The next stop will be Africa for the fourth edition of SenePack, the leading industry event in West Africa to be held from 22 to 24 June in the International Center of Conferences (CICAD) in Dakar. For the first time, the Italian delegation will consist of eight companies: ACE, Cevolani, Costruzioni Meccaniche Sottoriva, Pigo, Simplast, Sud Capsule, SMI and Tecnicam. The total value of Italian exports to Senegal is €152 million, the main item being machinery (30%), up 43% from 2021. The country imports almost €20-million-worth of packaging machinery, of which Italy is the main supplier with a total of around €7.4 million (37% of total packaging machinery imports).
The final appointment in the packed June trade fair calendar is Fispal Tecnologia, to be held in São Paulo Expo, Brazil from 27 to 30 June. A total of 8 Italian companies will be present: Cavanna, Cepi, Gruppo Tecnoferrari, Itatools, Navatta, NTE, Pigo and Sarp. Fispal Tecnologia is the most important exhibition in Latin America for packaging technology and for the food and beverage industry. More than 42,000 visitors attended the last edition, while 1,000 visited the Italian pavilion. Brazil imported packaging machinery worth US $401.9 million in 2022. Italy was the leading supplier country with a 23.0% share, followed by Germany (18.7%), Switzerland (9.1%) and China (7.1%).
